Much as an Open
Water Diver course opened the door to diving, the SSI Dive guide program will open the door to leadership,
which allows you to experience diving on an entirely different level.
 SSI Dive Guide
This
program is an introduction into the world of Dive Professionals.
As a Dive Guide you will be qualified to lead certified divers
on a variety of scuba diving adventures. Dive guides are
required to work through an active SSI Dive Center and when
necessary with an SSI Instructor.
 SSI Divemaster
(DM)
Dive Guide
+ Science of Diving
Divemasters
can also lead and guide certified divers, as well as assist with
both classroom and pool under direct supervision of and SSI
Instructor.
 SSI Dive Control Specialist
(DCS)
Divemaster + Dive Control Specialist = Assistant Instructor
As a DCS you can teach, lecture and do pool sessions with
indirect supervision. By assisting and active SSI Instructor
with open water training the DCS can collect valuable training
experience with is the best possible way to prepare for the
Instructor Training Course (ITC)
You will
be able to :
Lead and guide certified divers
Assist SSI Instructors in the classroom, pool and open water
Teach skills in teh classroom and pool under the indirect
supervision of and SSI Instructor (except emergency skills)
Teach the SSI Scuba Skills Update, Snorkelling and try Scuba
(pool only) programs
Upgrade to Training Specialist.
 SSI Training Specialist
This rating
allows DCS’s to conduct limited Specialty course training in:
Boat Diving, Equipment Techniques, Digital Underwater
Photography, Underwater Videography
Shark diver, Fish Id, Computer Diving, CPR, First Aid, 02
Provider, Advance O2, AED.
 Open
Water Instructor
(OWI) DCS +
ITC
This program
will teach you how to develop confident and comfortable divers
who will commit to the sport. You will be able to:
teach and certify; Indoor Diver, Scuba Diver, Junior Open Water
Diver, Open Water Diver, Advanced Adventurer, Scuba Skills
Update, Try Scuba, Try Scuba Diving, Diver Stress and Rescue,
Nitrox
